That’s why I’m here…. to worry about the details for you. This means more time for you to enjoy other things – golf, fishing, travel, spending more time with the family!

My name is Carol Berger and I am the owner of Berger Wealth Management. When I started the firm I had two main objectives – to provide unbiased advice and establish long-lasting relationships with my clients.

Before Berger Wealth Management, I was with another fee-only firm in Atlanta for over 5 years. While there, I worked with many types of clients – doctors, dentists, executives, small business owners, retirees, etc. It was great experience for me and I learned a lot. In addition to providing comprehensive planning, I specialized in Portfolio Management and Asset Allocation.

I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. I completed the Financial Planning Program at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. I am a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

In 1981, I graduated with High Honors from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. After graduating, I went to work for Mobil Oil in Beaumont, TX, where I worked for 14 years designing computer systems and later as a financial analyst. I then moved back to Georgia and opened a Mail Boxes Etc. franchise. Being the owner/operator of a franchise gave me great insight into what it takes to be a small business owner.

I have always loved sports – both as a participant and spectator. I enjoy golf and Pilates and love to follow the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and college sports. I am also an animal lover and live in Peachtree City, GA, with my African Grey parrot, Turbo.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does Berger Wealth Management (BWM) receive any compensation other than the fees it charges clients?

No. As a “fee-only” firm, the only compensation I receive is the fee the client pays. This allows BWM to provide objective, unbiased recommendations and eliminates conflicts of interest.

  • Do clients have to sign a long-term contract?

No. A client may terminate their relationship at any time. When this happens, the client will receive a pro-rata refund.

  • How do clients know that BWM will not take their money?

    For the following reasons:
    1. BWM will always have only Limited Power of Attorney over clients’ accounts. This means BWM can make trades in the accounts, but cannot access or withdraw the money.
    2. Clients’ checks submitted for deposit are made payable to the custodian (ie. Charles Schwab) – never to BWM.
    3. Clients will receive monthly statements directly from the custodian. This prevents BWM from sending out fraudulent statements. Any reports that BWM sends out should agree with the custodian’s statements. In addition, clients can track their accounts online.

  • Do you prepare tax returns?

No. BWM does not provide tax preparation services. As part of the Financial Planning services, BWM will review these if requested.

  • What happens if I die or become incapacitated?

I have what is called a Guardian Agreement in place. This allows another advisor to step in and help my clients. I have chosen an advisor with whom I’ve worked in the past and who has the same investment and financial planning strategies as I do. He also uses Charles Schwab as one of his custodians so is very familiar with their operations.
